Many of our feature/news photos in the 1960's were posed and stylized but we used multiple flash to add depth dimension to the pictures and even though they were photographed on location, many had the look and feel of studio photograph

This photo accompanied a story about a young girl who had been born with a physical deformity. The photo attempts to show the devices she had to endure as she grew up. And now she can walk without them. And is taking dancing lessons.

Sometime in the early Sixties, long before there was any thought of Op-Sails, the German Navy training ship Gorch Fock sailed into New York Harbor. This was the first time a square rigged ship had been in these waters in many years.

As I replaced the photo door in the Piper Tri-Pacer in which I was flying The bottom section of the door flew out of the plane as we were flying over Wall Street. I managed to hold onto it with the very ends of my fingertips to prevent a disaster.
